BUT - steady buzz from back of set. Not very loud, but clearly shouldn't be there. When sitting in front of the TV with it turned on, you really can't notice. But if you turn volume down, or mute, it is clearly noticable. Called customer service - and she was clearly someone with barebones training. Most questions I asked her, she put me on hold and obviously checked with someone else. Anyway, bottom line is she came back to the phone and told me that 'that's normal; that's the way the set sounds'. I voiced my concern about this answer, but clearly was not going to get any further on this phonecall. Hung up. To be sure I wasn't being too picky, I had my wife and a brother come into den, where this TV is, and they both agreed that this was, in fact, NOT normal - at all! Called Samsung back, gave them history, and told the guy NOT to tell me this was 'normal'. He didn't. Instead he dispatched local repair shop. Several days later service guy... The first TV had a loud buzzing sound emanating from the rear. Other reviewers have noted this and it was noticeable at normal listening levels. Some times it was loud as soon as the set was turned on and other times it became louder over time.The second set hasn't had this problem yet. A low buzzing sound is still present, but you cannot hear it while watching TV. There appears to be an issue with a component on this model since my older Samsung doesn't exhibit this problem. I can’t believe I’m the only one to give this TV a Five Star review! I love this Samsung! It has the sharpest, clearest picture I’ve ever seen on a TV, and I already had three HD sets in the house! Last month through my job at Dish, I picked up a Hopper, which gives me DVR and HD to four different TVs. I decided to pick up a fourth set, which has been awesome, as my in-laws have just moved in. Thanks to the addition of the Samsung to the household and the abilities of the Hopper, everyone will be able to watch their shows in HD, and no one will have to miss a show because of a DVR timer conflict.
